Aethra announces Multipoint Capabilities for Its Entry Level Set-Top
(18 set 2007) - Aethra’s Vega X3 is the only entry level set-top system to offer embedded multipoint connection capabilities
Aethra® SpA, a leader in the global telecommunications market, today announced that a new feature-rich version of its entrylevel set-top system, Vega X3, is now available. The Vega X3 is now the only product in its class to offer embedded multipoint capabilities. The MCU can provide connection of up to 4 locations either in mixed mode or in IP only. The 4 (3+1) sites can be viewed on screen in selectable layouts and up to speeds of 384kbps at each location, with the options of continuous presence or voice switching functions.
The Vega X3 therefore allows users to connect simultaneously with as many as 3 further locations, with the flexibility of using both IP and ISDN connectivity and accompanied by superior quality audio and video.
The new hardware and software options for the Vega X3 also include the Network Adapter (XLNA) with a default offering of 4BRI ISDN. This option permits point to point ISDN connections at 384kbps and the possibility to connect in a mixed IP/ISDN multipoint conference.
Conceived for small to medium group video communication sessions, the Vega X3 offers scalability, versatility and flexibility all in a small footprint (17.5 x 24.5 x 4.5cm). The elegance and sophistication of the Vega X3 are a result of cutting-edge technology provided by the Aethra research department, combined with the Paolo Villa Design Agency, a renowned name in the international industrial design environment, whose name is connected with products whose innovative styling has earned him prizes and recognition both in Italy and around the world. The Vega X3 has an essential design conceived for an international audience, which enhances the products value well beyond its technological content, with the choice of eco-compatible material such as aluminum. Vega X3 thinks green: using video communication technology results in a dramatic cut in business travel and consequently contributes to a significant reduction in associated CO2 emissions, promoting a company’s commitment to safeguarding the environment.
