IMTC SUPEROP!
(15 mar 2007) - The International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium (IMTC) announces that SuperOp! 2007, the premier testing event for the telecommunications industry is open for registration until March 21. SuperOp! is a unique testing event allowing organizations to test the latest software, hardware versions of their platforms against one another using the latest IETF and ITU multimedia open standards. With the event scheduled to begin on April 23rd 2007 it is important for companies to register to attend the event, as space is available on a limited basis. SuperOp! is a must event for all companies and organizations delivering multimedia telecommunications products and services today, and provides unprecedented opportunities to interact and test new or next generation products and services.
The main objective of this IMTC event is to provide real life environments for interoperability testing of open-standards based video delivery and video communications technologies in order to increase the quality of products as they are commercially released to the market. Our testing events enable competing companies to work openly and together in order to release the best products and technologies to their customers.
IMTC and will be host to engineers from across the globe at the Federico II Hotel in Jesi, Italy from April 23-27, 2007. IMTC AG leaders along with Aethra, Polycom, RADVISION, TANDBERG, LifeSize and Ximpo have planned and will coordinate the event, along with the kind support of Regione Marche. Infrastructure equipment used for the event will be provided by Aethra, Polycom and Telecom Italia. SuperOp!, organized and conducted by the IMTC each year, is a very significant event for the telecommunications sector and for telecommunications engineers because it brings together the leading companies and organizations developing products and services worldwide.
The implementation and diversity of equipment, protocols and vendors makes it impractical or uneconomical for any company to duplicate in its own test lab. All five days of the event are dedicated to testing and meetings held amongst each of the international activity groups. The event includes interoperability and interworking tests between IP networks and circuit switched networks using applications and protocols such as SIP, 3G-324M, H.264, H.460.19, H.323, packet-switched streaming.
“We are honored that in 2007 we are once again an integral part of SuperOp!, by providing our organizational support and the experience we have gained in 35 years in the telecommunications sector”, stated Corrado Mazzocato, Director of Operative Marketing at Aethra. “SuperOp! is an extremely important event for the international telecommunications industry, as it brings together specialists from all over the world with the aim of achieving interoperable communications on a global scale. With the arrival of High Definition and Telepresence in the market place, this year we expect to see some significant interoperability testing using HD systems and core call control communication standards in these tests”.
During the event, a live video link-up will take place with Andrew Davis, Senior Analyst and Managing Partner at Wainhouse Research, the independent market research firm that focuses on critical issues in the Unified Communications and rich media conferencing fields. The video link will take place during the Wainhouse Research Collaboration Summit in Berlin, an event focusing on new solutions for unified collaborative communications.
