Avaya Named to Top 25 in FinTech 100 Ranking Of Leading Technology Providers to Financial Services Firms
(12 nov 2007) -
BASKING RIDGE, N.J. – Avaya, a leading global provider of business
communications applications, systems and services, was named one of the top 25
technology vendors in the FinTech 100, an annual international listing of the
foremost technology companies that serve the financial services industry.
The FinTech 100 evaluates hardware, software and IT services companies based on
fiscal year-end revenues and the percentage of revenues attributed to the
financial services industry. Companies that qualify for the FinTech100 rating
must derive significant revenue from sales to the financial services sector in
order to make the list. The results are compiled and reported by the research
firm Financial Insights, an IDC company, and American Banker.
“The financial services industry, which encompasses the banking, commodities
and insurance sectors, is highly competitive. Clearly, these companies extract
great value from advanced IT and communication applications that enables this
industry to grow market share, revenues and profits”, said Nick Lippis,
industry analyst, Lippis Consulting.
“The FinTech ranking illustrates that top firms in the financial sector
worldwide recognize the value of Avaya intelligent communications, which are
enabling them to deliver a superior customer experience, boost productivity
among an increasingly mobile workforce, and improve total cost of ownership
while laying a solid foundation for deploying best-in-class communications
applications”, said Tony Kleckner, global practice leader, Financial
Services, Avaya.
Financial institutions benefiting from Avaya solutions include the Security
Service Federal Credit Union (Security Service), one of the largest
credit unions in the United States, with more than a half million members, and
Banco Santander Chile (BSC), part of the Santander Group and the
largest bank in Chile. BSC offers consumer banking, residential mortgage
financing, credit cards, auto loans and investment management services for
approximately two million customers and corporate financial services such as
financial advisory services and cash management.
Security Service is using Avaya Communication Manager software and Avaya servers
and gateways to link its corporate headquarters in San Antonio, Texas with its
branches throughout Texas and Colorado. For example, its IT network staff
experts, who are critical to the credit union’s operations, use one-number
access, which enables calls bound for their business number to ring
simultaneously on their office phone and up to four mobile (or wire line) phones.
This gives each employee their headquarters-based collaboration features such as
conferencing and call transfer so they are always connected and productive.
When BSC needed to improve and leverage their high level of personalized client
service and customer service to increase their success in the market, the
financial institution turned to Avaya. Now, Avaya Communication Manager software
and an Avaya server connect three sites across Chile and support BSC’s contact
center site, where BSC’s 400 agents are located. The Avaya solution enabled BSC
to improve employee productivity and enhance client service, with an Avaya Call
Management System that provides BSC with the detailed information and management
tools it needs to monitor and analyze its contact center operations, show where
improvements can be made and pinpoint areas where fast, effective action may be
required.
