TVBLOB demonstrates real-time, bi-directional video communication between televisions with MSI & VWEB at Computex Taiwan

(06 giu 2006) - TVBLOB, a software development company based in Milan, Italy, demonstrated its hardware and software solution that enables real-time, bi-directional video communication between televisions at Computex Taiwan, June 6-10, 2006 in Taipei with MSI, a world-leading mainboard manufacturer (TWTC Hall 2, booths E133/136/171/174). The solution leverages common televisions, analog or digital video cameras and broadband internet connections, along with the company’s backend technology platform and set-top boxes, which include video chips manufactured by VWeb, maker of broadband video networking technologies.
“It’s a completely different user experience because it is based around television use,” said Fabrizio Caffarelli, CEO of TVBLOB. “The quality is superior to what is possible with computers, so users can really see facial expressions and hear voice fluctuations. User interactions are more natural and typically taking place in living rooms or other locations where television viewing occurs. Most importantly, it has been designed for mass market consumers who do not have computers, as well as remote-control navigation, consequently, the interface is simple and easy to use.”
The solution is based upon the company’s technology platform, which facilitates multi-play data transfer that includes video, voice, mobile and high speed data communications. In addition to real-time, bi-directional, video communication between televisions, the platform can also facilitate personal/corporate video content publishing, Video On Demand (VOD), Digital Video Recording (DVR), timeshifting, and Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP). It also supports Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestial (DVB-T), Digital Video Broadcasting Cable (DVB-C), and other diverse services.
TVBLOB’s technology was designed to be used by both consumer and corporate markets including professional television broadcasting, corporate communications, education, film, healthcare, and hospitality sectors. Consumer solutions are largely automated, while professional solutions include a wide range of customizable options including video, audio, and internet settings.
